Some common hardware related questions.
Q: I have DE powder going back into the pool, HELP!
A: Damaged filter elements will result in DE powder re-circulating back into your swimming pool, thus a health check on your filter internals (elements or manifolds) integrity is due. Replace if necessary.
Q: There is algae forming even though there is enough free chlorine reading and right pH level.
A: Some irregular shaped pools has circulation trouble when not enough circulation turnover is achieved. You could perhaps try letting your pumps run through the night to ensure maximum water turnover.
Q: I have sand going back into the pool!
A: You might have damaged laterals in your sand filter, or a damaged multi port valve; thus resulting in sand being filtered back into your pool.
Q: My pump is not running very smoothly with a lot of air bubbles emitting.
A: Somewhere along the circulation line there is a choke; either by trapped debris or there is a bad mechanical seal at the pump which results in a leak which draws air into the line.
Q: My Jacuzzi jets do not emit air bubbles.
A: Either your air suction pipe is choked, or you have a wrong sized eyeball jet outlet.
Some common water chemistry related questions.
Q: My water just turned cloudy!
A: Cloudy water (algae bloom) if not due to hardware issue, will most probably be due to a high pH level or low chlorine level reading.
Q: My water just turned clear green! It refuses to go away!
A: When too much Trichlor is being used for too long, cyanuric build up causes the phenomenon we label as chlorine lock. Only way out is to dilute your pool water with fresh water to lower the levels.
Q: Whenever I finish swimming, my hair turns green/blue!
A: Your service provider is over dosing with too much copper sulphate (algaecide). Cut down!
